Ipod Shuffle : Second Generation Digital Audio Player
The iPod Shuffle is Apple’s second generation iPod digital audio player designed and marketed by Apple Inc. that uses flash memory instead of storing data in memory. The latest model of iPod Shuffle by Apple and weighs about 15 grams, introduced in September 2006. The first generation iPod shuffle was designed in January 2006. It can easily download a selection of songs and play them in random order. As per the new Apple iPod shuffle brings High-Tech in a cost effective manner. The iPod Shuffle model used “auto fill” feature in iTunes that can select songs at random from the user’s music library and copy it into memory iPod shuffle. The model is capable of up to 240 songs.
Apple iPod shuffle with a second cap on a lanyard, which can be used by users around their necks. Apple iPod Shuffle comes with Play / Pause, Next Song / Fast Forward and Previous Song / Rewind buttons on the front. On the other hand, it has lights, a battery indicator and a Three-stage switch to turn off the device or set it to music, play, or mixed. IPod shuffle is also used as a USB flash drive. The iTunes helps users to set up a drive for storing files and music.

The new model Shuffle is less than half the size of the first generation with a measurement from 41.2 x 27.3 x 10.5 mm. It was as the “world’s smallest MP3 player” branded by Apple Inc. The second-generation iPod Shuffle by Apple Inc. is able to play MP3, MP3 VBR, AAC, Protected AAC, Audible (formats 2, 3 and 4), WAV and AIFF, meaning that the only iTunes format not supported is Apple Lossless.
